Which word first comes to mind when thinking of summer? Beach? Or the pool? What about fireworks? In Japan, summer is the time for a fireworks festival known as Hanabi. The festival is held throughout Japan and was once celebrated to ward off evil spirits.


There are many great Hanabi events that you can visit throughout Japan. In this festival, people tend to use yukata to enjoy fireworks and there is usually a large number of food stalls that will serve crowds of visitors.
